Stine Benjaminsen is a classically trained recorder player from Denmark. Her performances consists of a wide variety of early music, improvisation and contemporary music.
Stine is greatly fascinated by the unifying link between early music and contemporary music. She has been touring in Denmark, Germany, Iceland and the Faroe Islands performing with various ensembles. All parts of Stine’s performances are equally important and she prioritizes the cohesion between music, time and place, the performers and their audience.
As a composer Stine is curios and explores unheard sounds when writing for untraditional combinations of instruments. Inspired by the power of nature, poetry, relations and human wonder her music shed light on the beauty in the fragile and transparent. At soloperformances Stines compositions is often build around the use of electronics, her singing voice and her own lyrics.
She has composed for ensembles as Cake Of Day, Duo Bragi, Esbjerg Ensemble, RecorderRecorder and Opera Soprano Anette Signe Pedersen.
Her compositions “Lilla Fugl” (Purple Bird) and “Tung Musvit” (Heavy Great Tit) was written for the performance “En Fugleverden” (A Bird’s World) a cooperation between Duo Bragi and Esbjerg Museum of Art.
